After reading our guide, you will know:

- Define your skin type

- Choose natural products suited to your skin

It can't be stressed enough: be careful about what you apply to your skin and mucous membranes; it can have serious long-term consequences. We recommend that you seek advice as soon as you purchase a product.

We know it can be complicated to navigate through all these complicated names, but many apps now allow us to know what is good for us and what is not, such as the Inci Beauty app, Yuka, CosmEthics, Clean Beauty...

Overall, you should know that no matter your skin type: cosmetics, makeup and natural, organic and vegan products will in any case be better for your skin and your health than non-organic and conventional formulas.

An organic cosmetic product is a beauty product made from natural ingredients such as vegetable oils, essential oils or natural waxes , all of which come largely from organic farming. By favoring these ingredients rather than the chemical active ingredients of conventional cosmetics, organic and natural cosmetics minimize their impact on the planet , in terms of ingredient sourcing, harvesting method, production or packaging.

In addition, these active ingredients are respectful of our health because they replace any ingredient harmful to our body such as parabens, silicones, sulfates, dyes and synthetic perfumes, derived from petrochemicals. This also makes it possible to promise a composition without extracts of animal origin . For example, pork glycerin is replaced by vegetable glycerin. In addition, organic cosmetics are in most cases also VEGAN (be careful to check the labels carefully and verify that the product you have spotted really is). A VEGAN certified product bans animal testing. To ensure that the product you wish to buy is indeed organic, we invite you to refer to independent labels recognized for their impartiality and their requirement: the Cosmebio and Ecocert labels.

Must-haves for dry skin

Does your skin feel tight and itchy ? Do you rarely get blemishes and does your skin lack shine? Do you sometimes experience dry, cracked skin ? You definitely have dry skin.

Your skin needs gentle nourishment . Organic cosmetics are perfect for this skin type because plant oils, butters, and floral waters are the main ingredients in organic and natural cosmetics. They are rich in fatty acids and will help restore the hydrolipidic barrier to protect against external aggressors and retain moisture in the tissues.

On a daily basis, cleanse your face without drying it out with an oil and moisturize your skin with our organic moisturizing cream . When it comes to makeup, treat your skin with comfort by choosing light, fluid textures like our moisturizing CC cream, which provides light coverage for a matte, natural finish. All the ingredients are of natural origin: use these products with complete confidence!

Must-haves for combination to oily skin

Combination skin tends to be oily in the T-zone, while it is drier on the cheeks and the rest of the face. The challenge for this skin type is to restore balance between these distinct areas without irritating them.

Take your time to thoroughly cleanse your face; double cleansing is recommended.

Before applying makeup, apply your primer to your T-zone to mattify your skin. This allows for better makeup application and prevents shine. Then, depending on your preferences, apply a Organic BB cream with a buildable texture to beautify, protect, even out, and refine your skin's texture (perfect for combination skin!). Primarily formulated with aloe vera, our BB cream can be applied all over the face and will hydrate it throughout the day. Mattify your skin with a compact powder that will control shine in the T-zone. You now have the perfect combination for clear, even skin all day long.

Need 5 arguments to let go your favorite conventional product?

The majority of conventional cosmetic products are made from synthetic ingredients derived from petrochemicals or animal sources and contain very few natural raw materials. Instead, they are mostly composed of agents that are harmful to the skin and the environment.

1️⃣ Your favorite mascara is probably made of mineral oils , which you can recognize on the labels by these pretty names: OZOKERITE POLYISOBUTILENE, PARAFFINUM LIQUIDUM … These are petroleum derivatives , also present in face and body creams, foundation, sunscreen… Totally, they deposit an occlusive film on the skin which will prevent its dehydration. In addition to that, they are comedogenic oils. These petroleum derivatives are responsible for skin irritations and allergies, and may contain potentially carcinogenic polyaromatic hydrocarbons . The icing on the cake is that they are non-biodegradable : therefore very polluting.

2️⃣ Perhaps there are also some emulsifiers ? Recognizable by these names: POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL (PEG), POLYPROPYLENE GLYCOL (PPG), PEG-6, PEG-100, STEARATE, DISTEARATE ... Mainly used as an emulsifying or humectant agent, they provide consistency and smoothness to creams. They are found in liquid soaps, moisturizers, shampoos, hydroalcoholic gels ... They make the skin permeable allowing greater absorption of the product, including the impurities present in PEG compounds (ethylene oxide, 1,4-dioxane, polycyclic aromatic compounds and heavy metals: lead, iron, nickel, cadmium, arsenic) . For this reason, they are suspected of being carcinogenic.

3️⃣ Silicones , such as AMODIMETHICONE, OLYSILOXANE, DIMETHICONE … They are very widespread and are found in almost all cosmetics. These petroleum derivatives are placed on the surface of the skin and hair and give them a smooth appearance. However, they are suspected of having a semi-occlusive effect on the skin, preventing it from breathing. "Real" care products can then no longer penetrate. These molecules take many years to disintegrate in nature and disrupt ecosystems.

4️⃣ Preservatives and antioxidants , such as parabens . These preservatives are used in many products. They penetrate the skin and are suspected of being allergens. Considered endocrine disruptors, they can cause allergies, cases of sterility, and even trigger cancer.

5️⃣ And finally, the sweet synthetic scent from perfumes is usually a complex mixture of dozens of chemicals . Many can be irritating and trigger allergies , migraines , and asthma symptoms in some people. People with environmental illnesses and multiple chemical sensitivities are especially vulnerable.
